We teamed up with Chicago Public Schools, Department of Academic Competitions and Chicago Debate’s Middle School debate students for an amazing event.

We were able to share our story and connect with 200 middle school students along with watching two middle schools debate our topic: “Fighting against racism and under-representation school’s reading curriculum.” The middle schoolers did an outstanding job. We awarded each debater a The Pierce Twins Ultimate Prize Pack along with donating our diverse middle school book collection to both schools. In addition, we provided every event participant with a copy of a book on our reading list: A Good Kind of Trouble by Lisa Marie Ramee.

We really enjoyed this event! We were so inspired by the debaters’ key points and everyone’s positive comments in the virtual chat room. THANK YOU for supporting us and our mission!!!

We had the privilege to be keynote speakers at the Chicago Public School’s Department of Academic Competitions 2nd annual HER Empowerment Summit is GIRL TALK: Class in Session on December 4, 2020.

The purpose of this event is to empower young ladies in grades 11 and 12 to rise above gender and cultural norms as they continue their education, matriculate to their professional careers and through life. Some of the featured discussions included mental health, dating, peer relationships, financial literacy, social justice, and women’s and racial equality.

We shared our story with over 100 young women and discussed self advocacy along the power of owning your voice. It was so nice to see all of the uplifting comments in the chat room. Everyone was so kind and supportive. It was a great experience for us and we thank everyone who attended.
